I am hoping this blog spot will be of interest and educational to someone.
I am not the most frugal person in the world but I do try to save money at the grocery store. I have always used the ad to plan my grocery purchases for the week. When I was buying groceries based on the sales and an occassional coupon I thought I was doing well....but then I learned about how to REALLY coupon.
Needless to say I was amazed at how much I could save! It is amazing to watch the grocery bill total decrease as they scan the coupons. I was loving it and it became more of a game and fun for me to save the dollars.
I am not OCD, I am not greedy, I am not totally frugal by any means. Couponing has allowed me to keep things on hand that I need and also allowed me to donate items that others may need that I would not have been able to donate in dollars. Even if you can't always use the FREE or very cheap items that you can get someone in need can. Some people even buy and resale on Ebay or yardsales. Couponing the right way can be a benefit in many ways.
I have always had a very well stocked pantry. Now I am able to do it with very little money. In this time of recession, increased utility bills, higher gorcery prices and layoffs it would be a great idea for anyone to learn to coupon, stockpile and be prepared grocery wise for a time of need.
Feel free to comment and share any special deals, information or ideas you may have.
